Clean Build Windows 7 BSOD caused by dxgkrnl.sys

Question asked by davient on Oct 1, 2015

I have a brand new machine with a clean install of Win 7, after all updates and needed motherboard drivers are installed I try to add the AMD Catelyst Drivers (15.7.1) for my MSI Radeon r9 270x They install fine, but on the reboot, after the Windows loading screen I get a BSOD with bug check string THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER, caused by dxgkrnl.sys.

Each time i try a driver I do a full clean install of it to check.

I have also tried the latest beta driver, which leads to a black screen hang after windows logo, and the earlier 14.x driver which also leads to a black screen hang.

Attaching Nirsoft Bluescreen report (Drivers causing each crash in order top to bottom: 14.4.v78, 15.9.1beta, 15.7.1 v7 )

Attaching: Dxdiag

I hope you can help shed some light on the problem
