How do I turn off the power of Wi-Fi radio in Linux?

Question asked by pixelpusher on Sep 22, 2015

I use Windows 10, the driver version 15.20.1062.1004-150803a-184226E and AMD Catalyst 2015.0803.1559.26924. In Catalyst Control Center I can turn off power for WLAN under the menu item "Power" > "Wi-Fi radio". Parallel I use Ubuntu 15.04 and I use there as well the Catalyst Control Center. In this stripped-down version, I can not switch off the Wi-Fi radio via the menu.

I have researched and have read that you can change settings with "amdconfig --set-pcs-val" or "aticonfig" via the command line.

How do I turn off the power of Wi-Fi radio in Linux?

Thanks for the information
