does AMD Radeon R7 370 need tri channel ram?
As far as I am aware only some Intel chipsets utilize tri-channel RAM. And no discrete GPU would require that configuration for it's operation, so no, the R7 370 doesn't require tri-channel RAM.
So only some motherboards use Tri.?
Is the motherboard I have here
i7-930 2.8 @ 2.8
Is my processor
Best Buy told me to buy
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
Or the graphics card would not fully work. (Found on new egg.com)
Oh and I have 850w for power.
I did some research and I think found that the motherboard is compatible with Tri channel up to 24g. All good and well can you confirm that for me. Do you see and other issues with the set up here?
The computer is a Alienware Aurora R1 if that helps any.
No AMD Graphics card has specific "RAM Type" requirements. You can use AMD Graphics Cards in any system, no matter if it is running Single/Dual/Tri/Quad memory. Support for these memory types comes from the CPU/Motherboard and does not effect the Graphics Card.
