DisplayPort Link Failure; Windows 10

Question asked by ebonovic on Sep 15, 2015

About 48 hours ago, my setup started to have a problem... and is throwing a DisplayPort Link Failure.

"The system has detected a link failure and connot set the requested resolution and refresh rate on your DisplayPort display.  Your display might not support the requested resolution or ther emay be an issue with the cable connecting the display to your computer."

My Setup:

New DELL: X8700-1884

Added: Sapphire Radeon R7 370 2GB GDDR5

Monitor: LG29UB65-P

KVM: IOGear GCS1924

I have three computers connected to the KVM, which connects to the monitor.

My Windows 8.1; Surface Pro 3 (via Docking station), has no issues  (Mini-DP -> Mini-DP into KVM)

My MacBook Pro; Via Thunderbolt (Basically mDP->mDP), also has no issue

The setup on my main computer (above) was working for the last two weeks, since I got the computer and added the video card.

I have now tried replacing the DP->mDP cable (Between computer and KVM).

I have also replaced mDP->DP (Between KVM and Monitor), no luck

I have installed the BETA Drivers, no luck.

A straight HDMI from the video card to the monitor, does work and give me full resolution.  So the video card is working.

But, I lose KVM functionality.

I have just ordered a DP->DP so I can try a straight DP connection between computer and Monitor.

I have also ordered a mDP->HDMI(Active) adapter, to see if I can go from KVM to Monitor's HDMI port

I have also tried every resolution that is an option, no changes.

Any other ideas?
