Whenever I open skype the AMD display driver crashes sometimes it resets and sometimes it causes my computer to restart. Both AMD and skype are up to date. Is this a common problem has a solution been found.
I have the same problem, I have tried the latest driver 15.20.1062.1004 which claims to have fixed the issue (). It has not fixed the issue. I have also tried the Beta driver and the only way I can get a system to work is to completely uninstall the AMD driver and use the default windows one.
Is there a timescale for when this will be fixed? Is there a away to go back to a stable driver that does not have this issue? Thanks,
Same issue. I also have the latest WHQL Catalyst drivers and the latest Skype version. Skype causes the screen to go blank due to a display driver crash. Sometimes the driver resets after a while, but sometimes I have to reboot. This also happened once when I opened IE11 and I had to reboot. Why doesn't AMD acknowledge the problem?
go through windows event logs and see if any codes , I run 4 different pcs with amd gpus " 1 a8 5500 apu , 2nd 270x . 3rd 290x , 4th quadfire 295x2 " , everyone has zero issues with skype or ie11
all pc have been updated to windows 10 64 bit pro and " except the apu " all are running beta 15.10 drivers
That's the difference. I have Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate x64 with all the latest updates.
Thanks for notifying us of the problem.
Can anyone affected by this issue please attach their DXDIAG.TXT report to their next post (please do not post the report) and include a full description of your system specifications and the steps you take to recreate the issue. For example, i see it's mentioned that it occurs with Skype open and when you open Internet Explorer.
