Hullo there, laddies!
I happened upon a piece of software the other day, an OpenCL physics system that requires a GPU with OpenCL 2.0
Now, the thing is, I've got an AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 (15.8 beta driver, Windows 7 64bit). From what I can tell through GPU Caps Viewer, is that the 7850 can only utilize OpenCL 1.2.
However, the OpenCL 2.0 driver found here, for Windows 8.1, states that GCN 1.0 and upwards support OpenCL 2.0. AMD OpenCL™ 2.0 Driver Moreover, why is it that the OpenCL 2.0 driver is only for Windows 8.1 64bit? Us Windows 7 users need some lovin' too.
Also, this webpage places the 7850 under OpenCL 1.2. http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/opencl-zone/amd-accelerated-parallel-processing-app-sdk/
So, uh, which one's correct? It'd be a damn shame if the 7850 can't do OpenCL 2.0.
