Integrated cards - outdated driver

I'm trying to run a game which crashes whenever my computer switches cards, a problem which I'm supposed to solve by accessing the AMD Catalyst Control Centre and changing the settings there (forcing the game to use only my AMD card). However, because my graphics card (a Radeon HD 6700M Series) is not compatible with the latest drivers, I'm forced to run the standard driver (v. 8.882.2.3000, according to my device manager). This does not sit well with my Catalyst Control Center, which refuses to start unless I update my drivers.

Is there a way to change the settings without accessing the Control Center? If not, is there a way to access the Control Center without updating my drivers (an older version of the Control Center, etc.)?

The ideal solution would of course be to find a way to update my driver, but I've been told it cannot be done. I'm running Windows 7 on an HP Pavillion.
