I have an Intel architecture PC. I installed the 15.8 Beta AMD APU Drivers by mistake. How do I uninstall them?
Thanks jimk, missed that earlier. Please try using DDU to remove CCC.
DDU can be downloaded from this link. http://www.wagnardmobile.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=5
Please go ahead and download the latest version and run it. It will prompt you to restart into safe mode, click yes. Once booted into safe mode the DDU window will pop up. Please click clean and restart and that should remove any trace of AMD drivers and CCC.
What Graphics Card and Operating System are you using?
Here is a quick summary of my rig.
Intel Core i7 5930K @ 4.4 GHz, AMD R9 295x2, 16GB DDR4, Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, ROG Rampage Extreme X99 MOBO, Water cooled CPU and GPU, ISP network speed - 85 Mbps down, 5Mbps up, Time Zone = GMT - 5
Thanks for the specifications.
There should not be any need to un-install the drivers, unless you start to experience problems. The Graphics Drivers you downloaded for the APU will be the same as the ones for your R9 295x2. The AMD Chipset drivers are under a different section, so unless you downloaded those then you've no need to uninstall.
Thanks Matt. I did notice during the install that the HDMI driver install failed. This has never happened with previous installations.
BTW I did uninstall using the Start > Settings > System approach and the entry in the Control Panel Programs section has been removed, yet my Catalyst app remains installed. If I do want to remove this Catalyst and driver set, how do I do this?
HDMI install bug was fixed in Catalyst 15.8 drivers i believe, the issue was present in Catalyst 15.7.1.
Please follow this guide to remove Catalyst Control Center.
I have been through this procedure. I now have no AMD Catalyst Control Center app to choose to uninstall. BUT the Catalyst COntrol Center app still shows up in the lower right corner of my video screen, in the systray. How do I manually remove this app?
What Operating System are you using?
As I posted earlier in this thread, I have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit as my operating system.
Can you answer my question?
Thanks the DDU utility worked well, although I did have to pause my Kaspersky scanner because it detected DDU as malware.
I re-installed the CCC 15.8 Beta and I noticed the HDMI Audio driver install failed again as it did in the 15.7.1 install.
Maybe AMD will fix this next time.
Thanks for your help. Consider this ticket closed.
