AMD Graphics Card Floods Event Log with ACEEventlog Entries

Question asked by sc489 on Sep 6, 2015

My AMD R9 280 graphics card is generating hundreds of informational events in the log ACEEvent.

This seems to be an AMD driver problem going back several years. I would like to disable logging of these events but can't find a way of doing this. I looked at the properties box for ACEEvent but it is greyed out and I can't change it.

I then disabled Catalyst Control Manager (CCM) in the Task Manager start-up tab and now have zero ACEeventlog entries. The problem seems to be poor software design of the CCM. I never change the the graphics settings and don't miss CCM - you can always run by right clicking on the desktop anyway.
