AMD Radeon HD 5800 crashing with latest driver on Windows 10

I installed Windows 10 and as a part of the Windows Update process it installed the latest AMD driver.

According to the FAQ here this should work as expected:

Will my graphics adapter work in Windows® 10 if it does not support DirectX® 12?

AMD Radeon™ HD 5000 and AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 Series products should fully work in Windows® 10 but will not support DirectX® 12 specific features.

Unfortunately though, I am experiencing frequent driver crashes.

I downloaded the AMD driver detect utility and it tells me that my drivers are up to date.

What should I do? My driver crashes a couple of times per day.

I could maybe downgrade but to what version?

Strangely enough the browser detect utility does not tell me the version of the driver that I have installed, only that it's the latest version.
