virtual super resolution?

Question asked by vforvalens on Aug 26, 2015

Running an i5 3570k not overclocked with a Hyper 212 EVO, 8gb DDR3-1333, Windows 10 Professional 64-bit, an R9 290 DC2 OC from ASUS and an ASUS VG278HE and some 27" LG. Both hooked up via DVI.

Enable super resolution, and go to my desktop settings to change both monitors to 1440p. Does so successfully. Then I encounter a couple of problems, one of which is screen "tearing" occurs horizontally. Sometimes even the audio will cut out and the screen will flicker as if it's trying to revert to 1080p.

The second is that all games I have tested -Tomb Raider, World of Warships, Borderlands 2, Metal Gear Solid V, all crash to desktop before I can even reach their main menus.

When I look at CCC it shows both monitors running at 1080p instead of the 1440p. What the hell is going on? ;_; Please help.
