Risen 3 (D3D9) 64bit "enhancement" free upgrade has FPS/ performance issues in CrossfireX/ Quadfire

    backFireX64

      Hello.

I have recently tried this game, but i have no experience on how it performed before the "update/ upgrade".

As it currently stands, i get ~25-35 fps with all settings maxed, on 1080p 60Hz vsync, a performance expected of a single mid-class gpu on a demanding D3D9 game.

The problem is that i have ~97% gpu usage, whether i use 2 gpus or 4 gpus, or even when i lower all settings to "high" gfx presets, which led to me to believe that it's due to negative or no crossfire x scaling. I cannot be sure if crossfire x is negative, cause i can't seem to be able to disable crossfire x completely (and thus use 1 gpu) through CCC for the game's executable. Is it because it is 64bit ? Anyone knows how to bypass this ?

My question is, does anyone have similar crossfirex or single-gpu performance issues with the upgraded version of the game, and if so, is there a workaround i am missing ?

I have already searched on Steam forums to no avail, though many users report general fps loss with the new version.

      I use:

      Intel core i7 975 (8 threads o.c stable at ~4Ghz)

12Gb RAM (1600 Mhz stable at 7-7-7-20 basic timings)

2x HD5970 (4 gpus/ max stable o.c at 940-1050 Mhz) on AMD Catalyst 15.7.1 (display version: 15.200.1062.1004) and latest official Video BIOS version

      Coolermaster Ultimate 900W PSU

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R v2 with latest official BIOS version

      Windows 10 64bit (winver - 10.0.10240 Build: 10240.16392)

      Thanks in advance.
