How to get accurate CPU, GPU and motherboard temperature readings under Windows?

Question asked by gontsharuk on Aug 15, 2015

I have an A10-7870k installed into a Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H board (rev 3.1, BIOS version F8):

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket FM2+ - GA-F2A88XM-D3H (rev. 3.1)

Either the APU or the board (or both) do not report accurate readings for the CPU / iGPU and the mainboard in tools like CPUID HWMonitor, AIDA64, GPU-Z are. However, the temperature readings seem reasonable and believable in the BIOS (UEFI) of the board.

After searching for solutions on the Internet, I have the impression that the problem is very common and AMD APUs have a reputation of reporting unreliable temperature readings for the CPU and the intergrated GPU.

Is there a way to get reliable temperature information for the CPU and the integrated GPU parts of the APU under Windows? What application / tool should be used for getting correct temperature measurements under Windows?
