I've just installed XFX's R7260X 2GB D5 DP HDMI 2XDVI G-card , I'm running the AMD FX 8120 8 core with 8G ram and a 750 W power supply , I am using an Acer V173 monitor so I grabbed a DVI / VGA adapter ,since install I thought I had a driver out of date issue so tried the AMD auto detect and it says operating system may not be supported (running vista home 64 ) and Graphics hardware = standard VGA graphics adapter , is the monitor with a cable adapter the issue ( adapter does not support DVI-D ), and if that is the problem , is there a work around that will let me wait to change out the monitor or will only a newer monitor work with this set up? thanks in advance for any input.
