Despite the amd-catalyst-15.7.1-win10-64bit.exe software package supposedly being compatible with Radeon HD 6xxxM series cards, it does not install correctly.
After cleaning everything up with DDU, and doing a fresh install from a newly downloaded executable:
-The device is displayed as 7400M series in the device manager. (Same as Microsoft had displayed it originally before i attempted a driver update)
-Catalyst Control Center stays empty except for the non GPU related options. (Info and Presets)
-The system continues to use the secondary GPU as it's main GPU according to dxdiag. (Disabling the AMD GPU also has absolutely no effect apart from the screen flickering twice.)
Before upgrading to Win10, the GPU along with switchable graphics, was working fine, with the driver supplied by HP. HP however does not supply drivers separately for Windows 10. And the default drivers supplied by Microsoft had the secondary GPU as the main GPU.
Can someone please either tell me how to fix this, or contact the dev team that they did something wrong?
