    Atidxx32.dll missing and GameApps crashing

    geekman

Upgraded my desktop to Windows 10 (from a clean install of Win8.1), Game Apps such as The Tribez and Farmville 2: Country Escape keep crashing to desktop.

The latest Catalyst Control Center (15.7.1) was installed first thing when Windows done upgrading.

The Tribez crashed when switching Islands.

Farmville 2:CE crashed in many places, like when opened the Farm Order Board and trying to sell something, or when opening the quest log book.

Windows Event Viewer shows this message:

So the problem is caused by C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\atidxx32.dll.

I go there and discovered it is not in the folder, but instead, an atidxx64.dll is there (why does a 64bit dll doing in the System32 folder??).

Then I search for atidxx32.dll and found it in C:\Windows\WoW64\ folder (and once again, why is a 32bit dll doing in the WoW64 folder, hm?).

Apparently, someone in the AMD Driver team is screwing with everyone.

Anyway, I copied the atidxx32.dll that I found in WoW64 folder (last modified date 27 July 2015) and paste it into System32 folder, restart the PC, and the games still crashed at the exact same location.

The same thing also happened when I was on Windows 8.1 - not sure if the atidxx32.dll is missing there or not, but the 2 games also crashed in Win 8.1.

I am using ATi/AMD cards for the past 10+ years, when people told me AMD/ATi have sheety driver support, I just laughed it off, now I am unable to laugh anymore.

Any solution for this? If not, my next GPU will not be from AMD/ATi anymore. Being a loyal AMD CPU user since the era of 5x86, I have been disappointed by the APUs and jumped ship to Intel camp, now I'm really hoping I don't have to jump ship for the GPU side as well...

As a side note, my laptop (which has been upgraded to Windows 10 as well) which is not using AMD/ATi GPU has no problem running both games mentioned above all day long. No crash, no freeze.

      Thanks for any help.
