      Has anyone got this working?

Edit to up date title as I've noticed the same hda codec error on boot up in both my dual head cards running under Catlyst.

Edit; I suspect this is the real reason; something missing in the catalyst driver, since these are two different Brands/models of dual heads.

      ......................

I'm now back making another attempt to get a meaningful return of my investment in a Gigabyte amd motherboard with a Gigabyte amd Radeon HD7790 dual GPU. This time I'm looking at using it as a media player into a LCD TV, preferrably trough the HDMI ports.

There is no problem with images and sound could be fed through sound plugs off the on board sound card.

How ever, I'd prefer if it went through the hdmi ports rather than a parallel set of cables.

I suspect the real problem is the HD7990 as boot up is full of hardware error messages, and the occasional stack trace, but we get there. It has been that way every since the combo was first purchased. Started with the special Radeon HD7790 driver, then moved through the various catalyst drivers as it incorporated into the catalyst driver.

Currently using alsa and "aplay -l" and other stuff to chase the problem down.

It would help if someone said they had already been down this path and had it working and any tips.
