I upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday on my HP Windows 8.1 64-bit machine that has the R9 270 Radeon driver version 14.201.1001.1004. When windows loaded the screen was flashing incessantly and I could not do anything, I rebooted in Safe Mode because that is the only way to do anything in Windows 10 from the desktop on my machine. I have seen Google search results discussing this flashing issue and the indications that the source may be graphics driver issues.
I downloaded the AMD Catalyst™ Display Driver version 15.20.1062.1002 (amd-catalyst-15.7.1-win10-64bit.exe) from Catalyst Driver and tried to install from Safe Mode as an administrator. When I ran the driver exe I got the error: "failed to load detection driver" a couple of times and the installer would then stop working. The driver would not install.
How can I get the driver to install in Safe Mode in Windows 10?
Had this issue been addressed yet in an updated version of the driver? I am currently using the AMD Catalyst™ Display Driver version 15.20.1062.1002 (amd-catalyst-15.7.1-win10-64bit.exe? Any suggestions on how to get Windows 10 working on my Windows 8.1 64-bit machine that has the R9 270 Radeon driver version 14.201.1001.1004?
