    blue screen atikmpag.sys

      ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series

I frequently get a blue screen and WHOCRASHED gives this info:

      crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini080215-01.dmp

      This was probably

caused by the following module: atikmpag.sys (atikmpag+0x8EFC)

      Bugcheck code: 0x116

      (0xFFFFFA80075224E0, 0xFFFFFA6002416EFC, 0x0, 0x2)

      Error: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR

      file path:

      product: AMD driver

      company: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

      description: AMD

      multi-vendor Miniport Driver

Bug check description: This indicates that an

attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed.

third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system

error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver:

atikmpag.sys (AMD multi-vendor Miniport Driver, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.).

      My equipment:

windows version: Windows Vista Service Pack 2, 6.0, build: 6002

      windows dir:

Hardware: Studio XPS 435MT, Dell Inc., 0R849J

      CPU: GenuineIntel

      Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz Intel586, level: 6

      8 logical

      processors, active mask: 255

      RAM: 4284755968 total

      ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series

An update does not seem available however

      The driver version is 13-9-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe

Qustion: should I update to 13-12_winvista_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe

      Would this help?

Is it compatible with my hardware?
