9xx SB driver just disappeared or what can´t find any driver for them ~_~
Need to use drivers from ages ago like 2006 will there any changes to this or are they abandoned like older graphic cards?
I have the same problema as you, my motherboard is an Asus Crosshair Formula V. I downloaded 15.7.1 chipset driver from the amd site but nothing change on Windows drivers.
My Windows 10 64 bits OS.
I hope that somebody can help us.
Here is a link to the newest chipset drivers
Weather or not they have changed since 15.7 or older driver packages, I didn't check. But they are posted as new for 15.7.1 driver package under optional down loads
I have the same ASUS motherboard as you do, Sabertooth Gen 2. The legacy Microsoft driver are old but still work fine. As long as they work it shouldn't be an issue. You can try to download the AMD Chipset drivers from the AMD website. But you will get the same results. (I tried). Just because a driver is old doesn't mean they are bad. I am sure if there was a large glitch with the 2006 drivers, Amd will provide a new driver.
I have the same issue with my Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3. If I run the latest driver package from AMD, it will only install some USB controllers which is not what I'm looking for.
I would like to get my chipset drivers installed to see if that is the reason I am experiencing micro stuttering every now and then. Seriously, I get issues playing youtube on a 1055T with 16 GB RAM. AMD should really look in to this.
I've been in touch with both Microsoft and Gigabyte regarding this already and they can't do anything until a new driver is released from AMD.
I found this site not too long ago. This has been a problem for years with the SB950 boards
All the hardware on my boards are recognized by Windows 10 natively. It has not been a problem.
Installing the optional drivers from the AMD optional drivers may have some performance gains for those with more expensive models
Windows recognizes all the hardware on mine as well... It's AMD drivers that fail to recognize their own hardware in their own drivers... really quite sad.
I use my rig in UEFI mode, so I do not use AHCI or PCI in the legacy mode
There's a good reason why on Win10 nothing but the usb filter driver is installed. The AMD SB driver and AHCI driver are still there, but they might cause conflicts when installed on win10 10586.14 TH2. If you still want to give them a try, start the latest chipset installer, then go to the c:/AMD/ folder it created. There the installer made a folder with its own name. OPen it and go to "Packages/Drivers/SBDrv". There they are. You can install whichever driver you think you need using your device manager, pointing it to the right *.inf file inside those folders. For the AMD AHCI driver, in your case, go to "/Packages/Drivers/SBDrv/hseries/AHCI". "W764A" is for Win7 x64, "WB64A" is for Win8 x64 but also installs on Win10 x64. Be careful though. Since the november update of win10, installing the "DriverVer=03/19/2015,1.3.001.0276" for AMD AHCI causes and endless boot, flagging lots of blocks that are empoty on your boot device as used, corrupting your Windows installation.
The drivers for the AMD chipsets are all included with Windows 10
