    New build: Adding Fury X problem

    another.jones

      I've just built a new system;

      Gigabyte GA-Z97MX Gaming 5, Win 8.1 Pro, i5 4690, Corsair HX750i, 256GB Sammy SM951 M.2 (System), 2TB WD20EZRX, 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance, Corsair H100i

      and set it up as UEFI. Win8.1 Pro 64 bit is installed and everything is working OK.

      I install a Sapphire R9 FURY X 4G D5 into the system, and whilst the machine still POSTs, Windows fail to load and drops me into Windows Recovery. I've set the AMD card as the primary graphics card, tried it in UEFI and Legacy driver mode, but each time I've not been able to successfully boot with the card installed.

      Removing the card from the system, and the machine once again will boot into Windows normally. Since I cannot get into Windows, I haven't had the opportunity to install graphics drivers.

      This is the first time I've played with UEFI, so it's not inconceivable that I'm not doing something obvious.

      Can anyone advise as to what might be the problem?
