The Radeon HD 4350 is classed as a legacy product. It came bundled with my DELL Inspiron 545 desktop in 2009. Is there an easy upgrade for this graphics card?
It works perfectly well but it is dragging down the system performance score.
It depends on how much you want to spend. The newer R9 and R7 series will support the upcoming DX12 which you would want..as games and such will start implementing it. You have to consider the extra power a new graphics card may require..and possibly will have to upgrade as well. Your existing processor will have a lot to do with performance. If you are running a Pentium, don't expect too much . Newegg, Microcenter, Tiger Direct are good sources for any of the cards.
You're very limited by your PSU, assuming you have the ' MT' version of the Inspiron 545 it's only a 300W PSU.
The 'best' card for your system would be a HD5450, which falls in the PSU requirements. Or you can try and see if it's possible to replace your PSU with a better one.
Googling around however a card like the HD6670 or HD7750 might work as well on your PSU, but if you want a decent video card it's best to also upgrade your PSU.
Hi Guys, thanks for the feedback - much appreciated.
I hadn't really considered the PSU spec so that's good input.
Given that my DELL is now around 6 years old I might just perform a 'technology refresh' on the entire system when W10 is released.
