Hello i bought yesterday Witcher 3 and when i play it my grafic card goes up to 72 celsius. Normally i keep it at 60 celsius. My question now is which temperatures are okay and what is the maximum temperature?
The Radeon 7850 by design can reach up to 94° Celsius (it's tjmax) but, will throttle itself down once it reaches near the thermal maximum to reduce heat as a fail safe. Thus, there's really nothing much to worry about in terms of it exceeding safe operating temperatures overall (except in circumstances of unit malfunction/improper maintenance). Even then, temperatures above 85° Celsius is generally only seen by crossfire users in less than ideal conditions. Optimal or ideal operating temperatures would be somewhere in the range of 85° Celsius and below which can be easily managed by raising the fans via the Catalyst Control Center or by using MSI Afterburner to create a custom fan profile.
Depending on your ambient temperatures, results and fan profile speed/curve necessity will vary, so simply apply what you think may be necessary on the first attempt and monitor the results. If after adjusting the fan speed and it's curve you are managing 85° Celsius without much effort, then reduce the fan speed/curve slightly. Repeat the process of reduction until you discover that the temperatures cannot be maintained at 85° Celsius and revert back to the nearest previously successful profile range/curve for best results including lowest fan noise (depending on if you even care about the ambient fan noise, I don't but, to each his/her own).
So to finish your question, overall your current temperatures are incredibly excellent and you have nothing to worry about. Yet, now you know for future reference and to inform others if needed!
Here's the most recent release of MSI Afterburner for download below (If needed).
MSI Afterburner 4.1.1 Final Download
If you require any further information in regards to the Catalyst Control Center, MSI Afterburner or anything else in regards to tech, feel free to ask away and I'll respond to the best of my abilities shorty. I hope this helped answer your question and have a nice day.
Thanks alot for these helpful informations, i think i wont need the MSI afterburner even if my graficcard reached 75 celsius today.
