One month ago FFXIV Heavensward dx11 benchmark came out, with final game coming out mid June.
I just want to know if you plan to do some driver optimization for it or if you're already working on it.
I hope so, I believe the 780 and 780ti were outperforming the 290X
Yes.. and that Gameworks logo... -_-'.....
I think it only uses HBAO+
In the benchmark you can choose hbao+ with amd card too. (it's default at max settings)
Then i tried to use the normal (non hbao) ambient occlusion and the score increased ( 5365-->6622)
I have a r9 270x, which ist not the latest extreme card.. but i expected a little bit more xD
I really, really, really hope they will put some work to optimize performance with the DX11 Client. I was going to create a thread as well, glad someone already did it.
NVIDIA Gameworks kills the frame rate pretty badly, I get around 6k with the Maximum Preset in 2560x1440 in borderless windowed mode with a R9 290 Vapor-X and an Intel i5-3570K overclocked to 4.2 GHz. If any AMD rep could read this and pass to the dev team it would be great, so we can see if we have to expect some kind of improvements before when the expansion hits or soon after the release.
I think the smart thing to do is start sending this question to AMD customer support asking them what the Catalyst Crew (driver support) has in mind for this game.
I sent a feedback via http://www.amd.com/report some time ago, will do this as well asap. Thanks for the tip!
Hey guys, just got a reply to the email I sent to the AMD Customer Support.
They told me that "The driver team is currently working on this and i suggets you to wait till the game is released.". I hope that's true
yes, got the same answer today
I hope they test the LOD options. This caused a lot of Radeon users' game to crash.
LOD options were fixed with the DX11 client at least from my testing. I've been playing the game since early access in DX11 max with the 290x. However, the dx11 client is currently unplayable on the 300 series drivers with possibly the Fury X being the only exception.
For those wondering about benchmark scores. I have benchmarked this game on the following 4 graphics cards in dx11 at 1080p max fullscreen.
gtx 970 - 10305
R9 390x - 10274
R9 290x - 9661
7970ghz - 7371
So from these results, the 390x is nearly identical to the 970 even with HBAO+. AMD really needs to get a driver update out quick to fix the 300 series stability issues with these dx11 games.
