    AMD APP ADK 3.0 Problem on Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS

    tomschi

      hi,

      i'm also trying to get the AMD APP SDK 3.0 running on my Ubuntu 14.04.1 system

      following the discussion in

      Installing APP SDK 3.0 on Xubuntu 14.10

      Unfortunately i'm experiencing problems with clGetPlatformIds, too, which returns -1001.

      Are there any news on this problem?

      thanks and lg

          There is a Linux forum that might have some useful information....

          Posting in that forum will probably get more response

              thanks for the hint, i've moved the question to the linux forum.

              the discussion i've referenced is the most similar/promising thing i found,

              so i just wanted to know whether progress was made on the

              clGetPlatformIds problem,

              thanks and lg

                  Could you show the results of

                  $ echo $AMDAPPSDKROOT

                  $ echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH

                  $ lscpu | grep 'Model\ name'

                  $ sudo lspci -k | grep 'VGA\|ATI\|3D' --after-context=3

                  You can compile the program at your machine, but have the runtime error with clGetPlatformIDs, don't you?

                      so i have an dedicated nvidia chip and the intel integrated one, and is use the APP SDK to run OpenCL on the Intel CPU.

                      as you said, the OpenCL program compiles fine, but when i run it, i get -1001 back from the clGetPlatformIds() call.

                      this worked fine with APP SDK 2.9.

                      thanks and lg,
