Will the "How-To" posts be transferred from the 'old' forum? Will there be a "Please Read before Posting" disclaimer?
EDIT (delete non-functioning link, so others don't go down rathole).
There is an FAQ area in the support forums.
My understanding is we migrated any content that was less than a year old.
I'll pass this on to the support manager.... I don't know about the disclaimer (good idea!) or whether we should use older content. That will be his call. Thanks for raising the issue, genuinely appreciated.
Thanks for the reply...but the link gives me this error
" Access to this place or content is restricted. If you think this is a mistake,
please contact your administrator or the person who directed you here. "

The hazards of being an admin - hey, it works for me.
I'll dig into this. Clearly it SHOULD work for you.
OK, that didn't take long. My apologies for poor info - I of course think the world sees what I see. Right now, only admins can see the "How To" space.
My ASSUMPTION is that the How To/FAQ space should be visible. I just looked, only admins can see it. That means either
* that's intentional for some reason OR
* it's an oversight when we were configuring.
* check with the people who are directly responsible for this area to see which is which.
I can fix the access VERY quickly if it's an oversight.
Stay tuned. Not sure how fast they'll get back to me. Appreciate your patience.
Appreciate the quick reply Another thing I noticed is the "actions" link at the bottom of the post says "No Actions Available" .......
Quick reply = we KNOW there will be hiccups, so I'm babysitting very closely today.
The Actions menu... most available actions are for moderators and admins only, things like delete, branch, etc. BUT... typically you should see some actions depending on the nature of the message you're looking at.
If it's YOUR message, you should probably see an Edit or Delete option.
If it's MY message, you should see a Report Abuse option. At least those two (seems to me) should be generally available, and not just for moderators.
I think I'll log in as "myself" rather than as admin - I have an account for the purpose, just to see how it goes....
Yeah, that's how it works for me as a non-admin.
Ok, now there are options under 'actions' also the 'helpful' is available...which is what I was looking for (I thought it would be under 'actions') and the "correct answer" is available.
