Does CodeXLRemoteAgent really need X11?

Question asked by sbaynes on Oct 9, 2014

I wanted to use CodeXL on an embedded Linux system that does not have X windows on it.

Obviously I can't use the graphical client on it.

So using the remote host feature with the graphical client running on a Linux desktop with the embedded system as the remote seemed like a good idea.

However when I try to run the CodeXLRemoteAgent on the embedded system it fails because the X11 libraries are not present.

I can't see a reason why the remote agent should need the X11 libraries just to do data collection.
