      Hello Amit

We compiled the desktop sample from the amd media sdk for video playback with video quality. It run smoothly on my laptop which has intel integrated graphics. Video playback is choppy on an hp workstation with 2 amd w600 cards installed. We tried everything from reinstalling drivers to codecs but there seems to be no way to access uvd on the w600. Can you help? The simple video playback sample included in the amd media sdk 1.1 won’t even run! How can we decode 6 different videos to 6 different displays using amd media sdk?

          Hi,

          1. Video Playback with video quality:  Video playback is choppy on an hp workstation with 2 amd w600 cards.  Tried everything from reinstalling drivers to codecs but there seems to be no way to access uvd on the w600.

          AMD:

          a. Are you referring to "samples\mediaFoundation\playbackVq" sample?

          b. What is the version of the driver?

          c. Could you share a screen-shot of the playback?

          d. How did you conclude that AMD UVD is not being used? Did you use a specific tool?

          e. What is the playback file information - width, height, frame rate?

          2. The simple video playback sample included in the amd media sdk 1.1 won’t even run.

          AMD:

Can you provide some details to help us troubleshoot?:

          a. Does the simple playback sample build?

          b. What is your OS configuration - Win 7/8.1 32/64-bit?

          c. Can you share 'clinfo' details ? In command prompt, run 'clinfo'.

          d. Can you also share details of the error while executing the sample and a screenshot if possible?

          e. What version of the driver are you using?

          3. How can we decode 6 different videos to 6 different displays using amd media sdk?

          AMD:

Decoding multiple video to different displays requires detecting and initializing multiple devices.  The current release only supports decoding of a single session in one GPU.  Upcoming release of Media SDK will support Multi-session decoding across Multi-GPUs.
