AMD's HSA Open-Source Linux kernel driver released for community review

I would like to announce that I have released AMD's HSA Open-Source Linux kernel driver to be reviewed by the kernel community.

This is an important step in the process of upstreaming the driver, called KFD, to the Linux kernel 3.17

The patchset, which contains 83 patches, was sent to the DRM maintainer, Dave Airlie, and to the dri-devel mailing list.

Link to the patchset cover letter: [PATCH 00/83] AMD HSA kernel driver

Link to the source code: ~gabbayo/linux - This repository contains AMD's HSA Linux kernel driver, called kfd

Everyone are welcomed to view the code and send their comments regarding specific patches through dri-devel mailing list.

Here is a link to a short news item on Phoronix:

[Phoronix] AMD Publishes Open-Source Linux HSA Kernel Driver

Gabbayo,

Does AMD plan to redesign the KFD driver? I was following the conversation on kernel mailing list but there has not been any more activities in the AMD HSA kernel driver e-mail chain (Linux-Kernel Archive: Re: [PATCH 00/83] AMD HSA kernel driver)

We are most definitely following it and actually working very hard on it.

I published a v2 of the patch set on Thursday night.
