Media SDK DEM Sample: Sound? (solved)

    jmtpc

      Hi,

hope this is the right place to ask a question related to the new Media SDKv1.0 beta:

I compiled the ScreenCapture sample and had some fun playing with it. Unfortunatlely it doesn't record any sound (tried encOutputType 1 and 2 in cfg). Neither with Radeon HD 7970 (FX-8120 & Win 7 64) nor with A10-6800K (APU Graphics & Win 8 64). It doesn't even create a lpcm file.

Tried each setup with discrete sound devices and with the Radeon integrated audio via HDMI - no luck. As the sample creates a virtual Wireless Display I thought the sound maybe has to go there but it can't be set as a 'speaker'.

      ---

      update:

Wireless Display needs to be standard audio device - can't be set if 'real' monitor is connected via HDMI.

      BR,

Steps to be followed to capture the audio

          1.       Open “screenCapture” project in debug mode

          2.       After Acquiring the display, go to Control Panel->Sound, select “AMD wireless” playaback device as default device

          3.       Go back to screenCapture application, give a free run, now you can get both audio as well as video

NOTE: Play any AV file before test audio using DEM

Please let us know if this helped.

          Thanks

          AMD
