CodeXL crashing on updating Catalyst driver

Question asked by sunnyengineer on May 24, 2013

I was using CodeXL 1.1 with Catalyst driver 12, and things were working fine both as a regular user and as root. Today, I updated my Catalyst driver to the latest version 13.4, and now CodeXL crashes with a seg fault (core dumped) on startup when logged in as a root user. As a normal user, it doesn't crash though and works fine.

Any idea, why it fails as a root user.

My machine is APU APU-3850 and also have a discrete GPU (Tahiti, HD 7970). I am running Fedora 14 (Linux 3.5.3). I have to run CodeXL as root because as a normal user it is unable to recognize the integrated GPU.
