12.6 the only driver that supports 5+ GPUs on a single mainboard?

So far the only driver that seems to support 5 GPUs is the old 12.6 driver. Why do the newer drivers not support more than 4 GPUs attached to a single mainboard? They do make mainboards these days that support up to 7- 8 GPUs per board, so where is the support for more than 4-5 GPUs?


12.6 driver, SDK 2.8, OpenCL= 5 R7950s usable within windows 7.


Any other driver after 12.6 only supports 4 usable GPUs within windows 7.
