    Team Fortress 2 Bad Perfomance Catalyst 12.10 with HD6950

    goodnight

      Hey there,

      I've got a HD6950 which should handle a game like TF2 easily but the performance is not very good. Although i have more than 60 frames/sec pretty much all the time the game feels very choppy. On windows everything runs pretty smoothly, I hope you'll address that issue in the future drivers since the number of people with the same problem is very high.

          With Catalyst 12.11 Beta 11 situation the same?

            I'm experiencing this "choppy" feel too even with a HD7870 (though it's still playable, but it's a regression nevertheless compared to the better performance under windows with the same hardware);

              I'm having similar issues with my HD5770 and Catalyst 12.11b11.

              The performance issues extend to other games such as Killing Floor, Red Orchestra, and Serious Sam 3 as well.

                I as well share these performance hiccups.

                I'm running 5650m, I3 M330 @ 2.13 GHz, 4gb ram.

                While I've had generally lower FPS with 12.10 with games such as Crysis, TF2 has been really terrible for stuttering and Low fps. I ran the game on highest with this laptop and now I've switched to all low settings. DX9 has quite a few stutters as detailed above. I switched the game to DX8 which got rid of the stutters but framerate still plummeted when any decent action showed up on screen.

                While the game has become more unoptimized with time, my PC should be more than enough to run it on decent settings. Hopefully some of this gets resolved in future drivers.
