We develop a code that traps FP exceptions. We are currently experiencing problems with the standard math library that ships with Fedora16 since that generates spurious FP exceptions. We are now looking for a replacement and we wonder if the AMD LibM library would fit that bill. So our question is if the AMD LibM library is safe to use in a program that traps FP exceptions, or does it use optimizations that implicitly assume that FP exceptions are not trapped? Thanks for the help!
AMD LibM library is safe to use in a program that traps FP exceptions. Amd Libm raises exceptions as per the C-99 standards. There should not be any surprising FP exceptions.
