Hey,
I am wondering if anyone knows if there are plans or future plans to provide Open Source GPU support for the current Radeon HD series in any of the Solaris operating systems?
Because as it currently stands the only desktop GPU support offered by AMD is at least 2 Generations old with limited support for the 5000 series. Any newer drivers i.e. DVI or HDMI require a Nividia GPU or sufficient programming knowledge to port an existing Linux/ Windows driver to Solaris.
Please keep in mind i am only referring to the x86 32 or 64-bit architechure and not SPARC.
At least from what i have found, siphoning through the various topics on Oracle Forums, OpenSolaris & Openindiana.
