How to get "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc." platform with nvidia card under linux?

I had to switch my hd4850 to gf8600 in order to test my OpenCL simulation using different OS/graphics vendor. I found incorrect kernel computation under linux only and I wanted to debug kernel using #pragma OPENCL EXTENSION cl_amd_printf:enable (my standard way).

I couldn't get  "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc." platform (for cpu mode) without ATI card despite the fact, that it is possible under windows. Is there workaround for that problem? I'm running  ati-stream-sdk-v2.3-lnx64 on ubuntu 10.10.

Try AMD APP SDK 2.4.

Also Ubuntu 10.10 is not a supported OS, so you may get it working but it is not guaranteed.

How do you conclude that "Advanced Micro Devices Inc" platform is not present for CPU?
