    64-bit version of compiler binaries

How can I build a 64-bit version of the Open64 compiler binaries?

I tried to build 64-bit compiler binaries, i.e. binaries that don't need 32-bit libraries on a 64-bit host system, but failed in doing so.

I'm using the recent 4.2.5-1 release found at http://developer.amd.com/cpu/open64, and followed the instructions in the INSTALL file included in the release. More in particular, I added --build=x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu to the configure command line, as is specified to build 64-bit executables.

I also strook me that the binary release for 64-bit hosts contains 32-bit compiler binaries, which is not what I expected.

Is it possible to build pure 64-bit binaries of the Open64 compilers? If so, how?
