CAL improvements in drivers

I went from 9.4 to 9.10 and noticed a significant increase in my cache hits with fetches...

.. I am curious if and what cache improvements for CAL have been made in the drivers? Can we start getting a list of the improvements in the driver release notes for CAL?

Probably not, as there are always improvements going on in the underlying driver/compiler.

Micah,

Actually, I thought so at first but.... Running a kernel under 9.4 with 4870 resulted in 0% cache hit, but running the same kernel under 9.10 with 3870 resulted in 75% cache hit (according to perf counters). BUT I ran the same kernel again under 9.10 with 4870 and that resulted in 0% cache hit again (consistent with 9.4)...

... so are the cache setups that much different from the 3870 to the 4870??
