    Catalyst drivers 9.3 for Linux

Has anybody tried the 9.3 drivers for Linux that were released yesterday ? No matter what I try, the fglrx driver segfaults when I start up X.org (see below). This is Ubuntu 8.04 amd64 with an HD 4850 X2:

        • Catalyst drivers 9.3 for Linux

I installed 9.3 yesterday, on Ubuntu 8.04, amd64 with a gigabyte 4850 card. I made sure to uninstall the existing drivers first (9.1), then  restarted in vesa driver mode, then used the .run file to generate the ubuntu/hardy packages, then installed them one-by-one with the package installer. Then ran aticonfig --initial to reset the xorg.conf, but it stuffed up my .conf so I went thru and manually set it back to how I need it. Then ctrl+alt+backspace to restart X and new drivers kicked in nicely. The new desktop compositing works great, can now watch videos smoothly and flicker-free (in XV driver accelerated output mode) with compiz running.. beautiful work guys.

For what its worth, I have the same problems, with the same stacktrace with 9.3, running x.org 7.4 on a gentoo box...
