Is it require to lock CPU frequency to get more accurate results in AMD µProf?

Is it require to lock CPU frequency to get more accurate results in AMD µProf?

As I know there are such approach to lock CPU frequency to get stable and repeatable results in benchmarks.

Does it make sense? If yes can we have such option in AMD µProf future releases?

CPU frequency locking is not required for uProf as the PMC based profiling depends on the occurrence of the sampled events, IBS profiling is based on the number of instructions executed. So, the CpuProfiler doesn't depend on CPU frequency as such. uProf will not have any such feature to lock the CPU Frequency. If you would want to lock the CPU frequency, then it can be set through BIOS settings.
