AMDuProf on Ubuntu

Hi,

I'm trying to install AMDuProf on an AMD EPYC system running Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS (GNU/Linux 4.4.0-134-generic x86_64).

Initially there was a compilation error which was fixed by following the steps mentioned here: uprof installation fails

But now the installation fails with this error:

modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'AMDPowerProfiler': Exec format error

Is there a way to fix this?

Hi,

Can you please share the following information, this will be helpful to debug the issue.

  1. Steps you performed after fixing the compilation issue,
  2. Complete error message seen after executing the installer driver scripts
  3. Messages seen in dmesg during installation.

Really sorry for this delay. I got around this issue by installing Ubuntu 18.04 with Linux Kernel 4.15.
