Parts are on the way. Stock Photo of the "Frame" for the case as it is not assembled yet. I will not be using those fans for sure.
This build will take a while as I will be waiting on Motherboard and GPU reviews in July/August time period.
Any ideas on how to make a "Mining Rig" look nice welcome.
I need to keep easy access to the case yet and good airflow yet have something to keep cats out of it...
The mining frame arrived and I assembled it The hard drives have also arrived. Here is a picture of the assembled frame with a GPU that I used to adjust the height of the metal bar used to support the PCIe slot bracket side of the GPU. The frame is new but at a very low cost. GPU mining equipment is on sale with significant price cuts.
Here is a close up shot of the GPU. The camera autoflash worked this time.
I ordered a PowerColor Red Dragon Vega 56.
It comes with AMD Anniversary Game Code Deal which has Tom Clancy's the Division 2 Gold and World War Z which is a bonus.
Main reason is it is a 2 slot high Vega based GPU, and Performance/Price.
I cannot purchase any RX Vega 64 Liquid GPU's new.
I have no time or desire to buy RX Vega 64 reference GPU's and spend extra time and effort to watercool them, and risk voiding a warranty.
It was time for me to move on from purchasing any more used R9 Fury X/Fury/Nano GPU's.
I am hoping it will have Samsung HBM2, but that is a lottery with these GPU's. Some have Samsung and some have Hynix Memory.
I will be testing the GPU as soon as it arrives and if I like it I will be looking for some more.
I will be using the Sapphire R9 280X on this builld for basic display output.
I decided to get a custom backplate made for the R9 280x GPU.
I had the backplate design made to match the backplate on my Sapphire HD7970 OC 6GB Vapor-X GPU.
Here is a picture of the backplate design, the 6 cututs at the top are to allow viewing the GGPU activity LED's:
Here is the R9280x with backplate fitted running a compute job:
Monitor purchased during Amazon Prime Day deal = BenQ EW3270U 32 Inch 4K HDR.
This is the larger version of the BenQ EL2870U 28 Inch UHD 4K 1 ms HDR.
It is a very good 4K HDR monitor for the cost.
Here are a few reviews if anyone is interested in it:

I am checking the FreeSync Range and LFC capabilities of the monitor at the moment.
I will be checking the brightness and color callibration next.
If anyone has any questions about the monitor please feel free to ask and I will try to answer.
Been very busy looking for more AMD GPUs and motherboards for this GPU Test Rig.
I will soon be able to test all high end single GPU examples of AMD cards from GCN 1.0 up running on AMD or Intel platform on Medusa.
Testing one of these for Medusa today:
AMD Radeon™ R9 390X Double Dissipation Black Edition - R9-390X-8DB6
Next GPU purchased for Medusa - an XFX R9 Fury Triple Dissipation.
I normally would not purchase a > 2 slot GPU but this one is interesting.
