One feature of the current AM3 hardware that I like a lot is that some motherboards support ECC memory (e.g., many ATX board from ASUS). This is one reason why the platform is pretty good for building (home) servers using commodity hardware.
I was wondering if the new FX processors based on Zen and/or the new AM4 platform will also be designed to allow/enable motherboard makers to offer ECC memory support?

Well the Opteron version will have ECC support. Not sure why would there be ECC in Customer MB. Even with FX having ECC work does not mean the CPU will take advantage of ECC.
