I bought a laptop Asus k550iu-go075t recently.
I am having issue with the graphic driver after i updated it to the latest driver. The system shows unable to detect the software or it might not functioning. I reinstall it few times with my firewall and antivirus software turned off but still the problem remains. Can anyone teach me how to do it? I saw youtuber posted video online on dota 2 fps with rx460. They could get around 80 fps with ultra settings but my laptop could only get 30-39 fps on ultra settings. Can anyone explain to me?
Use DDU Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) V17.0.7.9 Released. - Wagnardsoft Forum to uninstall your current drivers completely, make sure you boot into safe mode before running this.
Download the up to date drivers from Download Drivers
Try that and see how it goes.
As far as Dota 2, what resolution are you using with ultra settings? peformance varies depending on different hardware, the Youtube probably has a different CPU, ram, etc.
I have tried it before but still the problem remains.
For Dota 2 the resolution i am using is 1366 x 768 but still the fps is low
AMD A8-7600 and Rx 460 2GB 128bit Gameplay DOTA 2 "Ultra Video Settings" - YouTube
Above are the Youtube link
if you use a Laptop simply use the drivers provided by your LaptopManufactor - those guys at ASUS; Acer; HP etc do stuff to their mobos - so that the "standard driver" wont work correctly...
My previous laptop with Nvidia 820m can run Dota 2 with lowest settings of 100 fps but this RX460 can only run 70+ fps with lowest settings
It can be a number of things slowing your video down: biggest plague ever in laptops is thermal throttling, try HWMonitor or HWInfo to see what temps and clocks you're reaching; Windows is the second biggest culprit as it sometimes force installs own drivers instead of AMD or partners drivers - best to switch that off with DDU; Try with proprietary drivers from the manufacturer, as benman2785 said, although you can give Crimson drivers a go if you want to try them out, some versions work better than others, I'd start with 17.7 series for your card.
can hav so many reasons - like daquteness said
use DDU and install propritary driver from manufactor
Asus did not provide any display driver for this driver.
What if I did not boot it in the safe mood? What will happen?
you are correct - kinda strange
use DDU in SafeMode and deinstall driver
then install and test all drivers starting with 17.6.2 (last driver with working HWacc)
