Let's see, this is an AMD forum so either way your probably looking at buying a motherboard also.

So yeh, grab a B550 board and a Ryzen5 5600x if your gaming ?

That really depends on if you have to buy a board already to support the Intel chip. If you are having to buy all new the 3600x is hands down better in every way IMHO. Gaming and productivity is faster. Aside from isolated games and apps that just favor intel vs amd or vice versa.
