What's the best processor/motherboard combo for this laptop?

Okay, so I've got a stock Lenovo Ideapad 350-15ABR, the processor specs are as such: AMD A12-9720P Radeon r7, 12 Compute cores 4c +8G 2.7Ghz. I'm totally happy with the laptop, but wanted to upgrade it. I know I'm locked at 16gb RAM, and I'm already looking at SSD upgrades, so the one area I'm lacking in is upgrades to the motherboard and processor. This will be the first time I've upgraded a computer of mine, so mind the newb.

The processor is soldered to the motherboard, so they would have to be replaced as a combined unit. The only upgrade that is listed on Lenovo's FRU parts list above the A12-9720P is the FX-9800P. However, the specifications of those 2 processors seem to be the same. I would recommend do not upgrade the motherboard.
