Heya Folks,
So I recently just received the GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6600 Eagle 8G Graphics Card and I now have been eyeballing the recently released Ryzen 5 4500 and I was wondering if Smart Access Memory was capable with this specific GPU and CPU pairing. If not, I'll just get the Ryzen 5 5500.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Ryzen 4500 and Ryzen 5500 only support PCIe 3.0 as well.
The RX 6600 only uses PCIe 4.0 X8 so there could be performance loss if only in PCIe 3.0 mode.
The requirements I have read say you can run SAM in both PCIe 3.0 and 4.0.
According to the AMD official site you are required a Ryzen 3000 or Ryzen 5000 processor as well as a 500 series motherboard.
