My Ryzen 9 5950x cpu is stuck at 4.0ghz, havent changed anything.

Motherboard Asus rog crosshair VIII dark hero

2x16 GB g.skill DDR4 3600mhz CL 16 Trident

It wont boost over 4.0ghz and that kinda sucks with my setup. It boosted to 4,9 with my old motherboard msi mpg b550 gaming.

single core and multicore is stuck at 4.0

Have you checked your Motherboard's BIOS for any settings that will boost the CPU like PBO or other similar settings in BIOS.

Sounds like the mobo settings are set for a manual (fixed frequency) overclock.  You haven't installed any new software (mobo utilies, etc)?

Clear CMOS and see if that fixes it.

I am having the exact same issue. 5950X on an ASUS ROG STRIX X570E-GAMING mobo.
