Ryzen 9 5900x suddenly shutdown and restarts computer

Hello,

I have a older cyberPowerPC with MSI B450m bonanza motherboard that I upgraded around Christmas with Ryzen 9 5900x, replaced old SSD hd with new 1Tb m.2 drive, 32G ram (now have 48Gb) and AMD 580 AT 8Gb graphics card.  Things were working great but then I was working in Adobe Lightroom Classic and suddenly when I went to open raw file the computer turned off and restarted.  Nothing in the event viewer except computer restarted.  I found that the same thing happens to Luminar NEO when I am working with AI masks.  I had also upgraded to Windows 11 recently but as I said everything was working fine.  So here is what I have done:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows 10 re-stalled (updated to latest patches)

Re-installed Adobe Lightroom and Luminar Neo to latest version.

Installed older and current drivers for chipset and GPU.

Re-installed old graphic card (still had issue so put newer card in)

Ran AMD Ryzen Master and tried to do a CPU stress test but as soon as I click the button computer went down and Ryzen Master would not load anymore.

Thinking maybe a power supply issue I replaced the 450w power supply with new 750w power supply.

Backrev'd Lightroom Classic to earlier version (after back off Windows 10 22H2 to 20H2) - At this point Lightroom Classic has been more stable but I have not pushed it too hard.  Luminar NEO is more consistant to get issue.

Also I sent both programs to not use GPU processor.

Monitoring temps on CPU when running the programs and before it shutdown the temps are no higher then 70c.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a new CPU cooler on order that is recommended for the AMD Ryzen 9 (temps when monitoring were fine but figure I try) and ordered a ASUS B550 ROG motherboard.

Is there anything else that someone can think of for me to check to figure out why the computer shuts off and restarts suddenly.

Those were symptoms of a bad/insufficient PSU and to be fair, 450W was clearly not enough.

750W should be fine.

What I would check next is the memory, although, memory issues will just crash and not reboot.

Since you ordered a new Board, I would wait and see. Be sure the memory is on the QVL support list or it may give you issues while running DOCP/XMP.

BTW: Did you ordered the A, F or E version?
To clarify, the E version is the most powerful of the RoG Strix bunch, sometimes its far superior to other X570 boards.

The motherboard I ordered is the ASUS ROG Strix B550-F with wifi II.

I also ran windows MEMTEST on the computer with no issues but do understand those test are not all inclusive.

I will look into the QVL.

Well Motherboard has been replaced along with new Nacua CPU fan.  OS is back to windows 11 N2H2.  Lightroom re-installed and appears to be working for now.  Luminar NEO still causes shutdown when I use the Mask AI and click human.  I checked Event Viewer and it appears to be getting Application error for C:\Program Files\AMD\CNext\CNext\AMDRSServ.exe.  Any ideas on this?

onewayswb, what version of W11 are you running? Why are you not running the latest? Please do a Clear CMOS and see if that helps. Please post the Details tab for your Event Viewer Critical error. Look in C:\Windows\Minidump and if not empty, please compress it and post it somewhere I can get to it. Thanks and enjoy, John.

I pretty sure I have reset my bios/CMOS already.  But will give a try again tonight when I get home.  I will also check the Minidump for any files.  Here is the detailed view of the application error.

onewayswb, this contains no BugCheck and I think is not relevant to your crash. Please filter your Event Viewer for Critical errors. What version of Windows are you running? I would suggest you update your video software from here. Enjoy, John.

onewayswb, I am out of ideas. You can consider RMAing the processor or the MB. RMA for processor is here. Good luck. John.

Hey I am going to put my old AMD processor as a test but been working on issue. I noticed that just before the computer shuts down the DRAM led on the motherboard goes amber/orange the CPU led goes red then the computer turns off.  Would this be a clue as to what is going on?
