Ryzen 5 3600X heat , and watercooling advice

Hello

i have a Ryzen 5 3600x , on idle it gets 37C temp, on gaming up to 70C , the fan was too loud so i twicked the bios to run on silent mod ( kinda 2300 round per min), are these temp number are normal for this CPU ? if i install a water cooling system, will it run bellow 37C temp ?

, thanks in advance

I doubt it would get much cooler. You might get down to say 33. You really want to stay in normal operational range. I don't think you really want to go lower than that. They temps you are getting are very satisfactory IMHO. I have a 3600 non X and my temps are around 36 at idle and 69 under full 100% load. I am on a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

I don't feel like water cooling is worth it. You really can't OC these anymore by cooling them better anyway.

If you are not already running the latest bios for your mother board, latest chipset driver from AMD and Download Ryzen Master latest version and install to get the Latest Ryzen Balanced Power Plan. In that plan under advanced change the Minimum Processor state to 5% and it will help the idle temp a bit more.  Those 3 things in combination will improve your cooling numbers too, likely.

I should add that AMD says the max temp on these 90. Some are saying they can throttle or even give errors in the low 80's. But you are 10 degrees below that, so I don't think you have any reason to worry. What cooler are you using now, the one that came with it? Download  CORE TEMP and CPUz you can watch each of your cores temps at 100 percent load and see if any of them are dropping to something lower than 100 in core temp and use cpuz under benchmark and choose stress test to test 100% load. This will show throttling and that a temp is too high for a core if it is an issue in core temp.

Ryzen Master FAQ : https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-775

Make sure to have the latest version: https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/ryzen-master

Maker sure to have the latest chipset driver, choose chipset in the left pane and your boards chipset B450 in the right: https://www.amd.com/en/support

The ryzen balance plan will be under the windows settings. The little gear in the start menu. Power and Sleep.

This will show you how to get there:

If it isn't in the additional plans try reinstalling Ryzen Master again and make sure you restart.
